Prof. Dr. Christian Osterrieth

Christian Osterrieth, attorney since 1984, practices since 1986 exclusively in the field of national, European and international Intellectual Property law (technology law, trademark law and unfair competition law) and is specialized in patent and trademark litigation as well as licensing.

Christian Osterrieth represents major and global clients from many technology-driven industries, including electronics, computer hard- and software, medical devices and pharmaceuticals. A particular focus of his work is the development and implementation of litigation strategies in multi-national patent litigation.

Christian Osterrieth studied at the University of Paris II (Université de Droit, d'Economie et des Sciences Sociales) after his second State Exam (French and international Intellectual Property law).

He is author and co-author of various books and articles on Intellectual Property law and is a frequent speaker at international conferences regarding patent law, trademark law and licensing. He especially takes part in the training for specialty lawyers in Intellectual Property Law.

From 2002 until 2004 he was President of LES Licensing Executives Society, Germany. He is a member of the patent committee of GRUR, the German Intellectual Property Association.

Christian Osterrieth is honorary professor for patent law at the University of Constance and lecturer at the University of Düsseldorf.
